My passion for art, archaeology, and travel has taken me from Amsterdam to Athens, Nicosia to Nanjing, Port Said to Seoul, and Tel Aviv to Tokyo. Simply put, I love learning: about discoveries that provide insight into our past; works of art, architecture, and photography that inspire our senses and challenge our conventions; and remote parts of the world that show how interconnected we all are.
My first book, The Past Revealed: Great Discoveries in Archaeology, which I co-authored, came out in 2010. The volume recalls the events surrounding the most important archaeological discoveries of all time, and includes period photos of great dig sites and discoveries.
I’ve also reported on the archaeology of China, Crete, Israel, Germany, the Middle East, and the US for Archaeology magazine, and written for publications ranging from the Let’s Go: Greece and Turkey travel guide series to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s email newsletters to the International Center of Photography’s course catalogues.
